Northwestern Play-by-Play

Hopefully Wynn can get in shape and up to speed in the next couple of weeks and play more snaps.  He looks like a problem.


 
I don't know that I've ever seen a team do this much extra-curricular then actually snap the ball.

IIRC, we were bunched up early then spread out as they went through their motions.

No idea what Drew is doing.

Not good here, especially when we need him as a backup.

But also, please tell me what Garrett Nelson did here?  He's a rush EDGE,  3 year starter, and a captain of the team.  The replay slows it down.  Is this a problem too, or...??

He stayed home because he has outside contain.

 
So close to Mathis getting this knocked down.

Not a fan of how we cover this.  It makes sense on the chalkboard as the ILBs look to be switching on the crossing route.  But that makes both of them stop and switch directions while the guys they are covering are running full speed.


 
I'm not putting much blame on Henrich on the last two plays.  What he's being asked to do just seems like it's asking too much.


 
Clark could probably play a bit more inside leverage on this but you're probably expecting the guy to go to the corner with all that room to work with outside.  I think we needed to keep a safety on that side to help middle, especially with three receivers to that side.

QB is facing Nelson.  Nelson has QB responsibility if he pulls on the Zone Read.
