Northwestern Play-by-Play

I don't know that I've ever seen a team do this much extra-curricular then actually snap the ball.

IIRC, we were bunched up early then spread out as they went through their motions.

No idea what Drew is doing.
It’s painful to see the DLine play shoulder pad to shoulder pad on all these short yardage plays.   Don’t see much of any low drive forward to just clog things up and not allow the OLine to gain ground.

Not sure if our DLine is taught the wrong thing or if they just don’t listen to the coaches.

Maybe it's just me but it seems like we were in zone when man coverage would have been better and man when zone would have worked better.

I've always loved this look.  Dragging the TE behind the line is so hard to cover.

Can't tell if this is really an RPO or just made to look that way.

I assume we must have switched something up at half time because we are in much better position in coverage to start the second half.

Interesting that this looks like it was probably supposed to go farther inside as both trap blocks look farther left.  But at least there was some movement and a hole to run through.  If Brown gets a bit more of a block he probably walks in.

Again, it looks to me like we're lined up too far left.  I know counter trey is hard to stop but their down blocks are too easy leaving not very many guys to take on the pullers.

Underthrow is better than overthrow but you don't get a guy much more open that this (unless you're playing against Nebraska's defense).

LOVE that we ran a version of the counter trey back at them.  And there was a really nice hole.  But Grant turns a good play into a great one on his own.
