Northwestern Specialists mock Taylor

I'm not sure if anyone else at the game noticed this, but in the 4th quarter when Taylor was marching the team down the field, the 4 Northwester kickers/specialists continued to mock Taylor's throwing motion. I know Martinez doesn't have the best mechanics, but I thought it showed a considerable lack of taste on the part of an opposing team.

On a side note, I have to say this was the best I've seen Taylor play, ever. He was making good ball fakes, nearly all his throws were on target, he didn't put the ball on the ground, and I thought all around played about as good as he could have. I've never seen him more accurate with his throws in any other game, including the OK state game last year.

 
Non issue. I think it is much less tasteless for Reese Davis to start cracking up about it on national TV than a few special team guys from NW joking about it.

 
Yeah, I kind of feel like us joking about it is ok since he's on our team. I guess I need to realize they are just young kids that were excited they were beating a ranked opponent on the road.

Taylor usually has at least one pass batted or hit a lineman every game because of his quirky throwing motion. Exhibit A today would be Martinez bouncing one off of Caputo's helmet. Caputo isn't exactly tall for a lineman, and a normal throwing motion would let Taylor release the ball a foot higher, at least.

I am baffled as to why Martinez" throwing motion can't be fixed by a coaching staff collecting millions of dollars in payroll, or better yet, by Taylor himself. If all of our defensive line got dow in their stance with their legs crossed, would everybody say, "Well, that's just how they always have done it, too late to change now."

 
"If he doesn't know where the ball is going neither does the defense" I thought the guy talking was pretty lame until that line.

For the same reason the professionals haven't been able to change Tebow's. Its hard to change something you've done for a long time. Yea, its ugly, but it gets there. The most frustrating part to me is when it does get there, his receivers drop it. Taylor threw the ball well today.

It was hard for me to run a mouse lefthanded when I got carpal tunnel (I'm an IT guy), but I decided I need to do so to avoid surgery. I did.

It's also hard to learn how to drive a stick shift, lose weight, put the toilet seat down when you get married, quit smoking, learn to take your hat off in the house, and <YOUR EXAMPLE HERE>. The difference between adequate and excellent is if and when you are satisfied in not improving the status quo. I guess Martinez and the coaching staff are at that point with his throwing motion.

 
T-Mart's footwork could be improved.

If you are happy with 55% completion fine.

Some footwork help, imo, would help him make some measurable strides as a passer.

Caputo is a worthless freakin midget on the O-Line. He gets blown up constantly and is the main reason the other teams have gotten so much penetration in the backfield the last two years.
