Notre Dame #1?

Not that I give a crap, but should Notre Dame really be playing in the National Championship Game, playing 1 less game than the other BCS schools having to gain entrance after a league championship game? Or does their supposed strength of schedule counter that?

 
theyre the only undefeated team left, and they play a schedule of 100% AQ conference foes. They deserve it. Passing up an undefeated Nooter Dame with a couple 1 loss SEC teams-one of which wouldnt have to play in a championship game either by the way-would result in an apocalypse of biblical proportions.

 
Notre Dame played a tough schedule, but I agree with you on the frustration I feel that some conferences have to play an extra game and some don't. Just think, we could be in the Rose Bowl now already! Every conference should have a championship game or none should.

 
I don't like Notre Dame, but I'm having trouble understanding who you think deserves it more than they do, at least as far as non SEC teams go. Who would you put in their place other than an SEC team? They beat Oklahoma, USC, Stanford, and Michigan. I can't think of another non SEC team who's done better than that. Oregon beat USC and Oregon State. Kansas State beat Oklahoma, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma State.

i would much rather have Notre Dame playing for the national championship against an SEC team, than watching a second straight year in a row that two SEC teams play for the national championship.

 
My two favorite teams: Nebraska and whoever is playing against ND. Just makes my hair stand on end to know they will be playing for the National Championship.

Conferences themselves choose to hold championship games. For what? Fairness? No. Money. There are plenty of great reasons not to hold them, and the Big 12's current setup (although it was not by choice) of 10 teams, 9 conference games is perfect, IMO. It's not as though the NCAA is trying to force conference championship games and Notre Dame or the Big 12 is refusing. The teams of the SEC, ACC and Big 10 are forced to sleep in the bed their conferences made.

 
They deserve it. No doubt.

All we can hope for is for Georgia to beat Bama and then take it to the Irish in South Beach.

Other than my beloved Skers, the Dawgs are my only hope left for the NC.

 
I say let them have their '15 minutes of Fame' so to speak then I hope Georgia beats Alabama then beats the crap out of ND! :)

 
Sorry but watching their Dline last night impressed me enough. I know it's a poor USC team but those DT's were wreaking havoc. Let's see how they do against Bama/Georgia....
