Zach's Kroenikles, 6/20
Zach Kroenke watched Sunday's 7-4 loss to Florida in the Nebraska dugout. The left-handed junior pitcher, who will start for the Huskers against Arizona State on Tuesday, has been giving his thoughts about NU during the postseason.
"It's not over. We did it in the Big 12 Tournament and we lost the very first game. We've got one under our belt, we've just got to keep working.
"We outhit them. They just had more timely hits. When they had guys in scoring position, they got hits. We got almost all of our hits with two outs, and it doesn't work so well for you. You need a couple of guys on base when you're doing that.
"Guys hit balls that should be off the wall or gone any other day, and they'd just be right at a guy. They made a few good plays on us. Their outfield was pretty sharp today, but we just got unlucky.
"(Johnny Dorn) looked sharp, they were just on it. It just looked like they had a bead on it. It wasn't his day.
"That'd be fun if we get to play tomorrow, just come back and get it going again. But I think a day off will be good for us. Tomorrow? A lot of eating (for me), good night's rest and just going through the scouting sheet again and trying to figure out exactly what we need to do, how we need to pitch (Arizona State), just rest up and make sure I'm ready to go for Tuesday."
