nu special team vs clemson

this is a big concern , looking at what we've givin' up on special team...against a faster team(OU) our special team players looked like they're running in sand ...if you think the guys from ou were fast wait 'til you see spiller and ford...these guys are fast!!...hate to say it but i think nu gives up at least one big play on KR or PR...best thing to do is to kick it away or out of the end zone but the problem is that kunali have been REALLY sucking lately...there were numerous times where the ball wasn't even makin' it to the five yard line on kickoff....don't know if he's hurt or what but c'mon man!!!

One thing about Spiller and Ford is their love of catching kickoffs and especially punts on the run sometimes even while diving. We've muffed a couple punts this year. They have the potential to break one every time they touch the ball but sometimes they give the ball up.

Both Spiller and Ford are very fast but Spiller has more moves so kicking it to Ford would be best for y'all unless you want to go the pooch kick route which wouldn't be a bad idea considering what I just said above.

i really do think the special team is gonna have a big impact on this game( in favor of clemson)...we have shown over and over again (especially against a fast team) the tendency to give the long run on kr....

Well, our kick/punt coverage sucked in the VT game; was a big factor--along with the inability to rush the ball-- in our loss, frequently giving them the field position advantage. Plus they blocked a punt. Our return game generally has been good this year, though, Swift having taken a punt 90 yds to the house vs VT.

Gotta shore up the SpTs and run the ball to beat Clemson. :box

that's the problem...kunali hasn't even been close to kickin' it outta the end zone...i remember when he first got here he was kicking everything out of the end zone..don't know what has happened since..there were times where the ball was getting only to the ten yard line..then we still gotta worry about the punt return

Yea, maybe it's the wind sometimes. They keep moving the dang kicking spot back five yds so now it's a 75 yd kick into the endzone. Our kickoff coverage has GOT to improve though, was real weak this yr.

It's NOT KUNALIC...................

It is the coaches philopophy..........

The old staff said hey, if you kick a low line drive and it goes out of the endzone 60% of the time we will try to cover the field the other 40%.

This staff wants Kunalic to get HANGTIME so that we can cover every kick......... (which as said has been less that good this year, maybe x-staff did something right?)

It's two different thought processes..........

I'm not a fan of either of those specialized kicks. Just kick it hard and away from their best guy and try and get it into the end zone. But if the guy catches it no greater than the 5 yd line we should be able to stop him by the 20-25: that would be good coverage.

Clemson fans, how is your FG kicker? We have Alex Henery, who kicks 57-yard game-winning field goals with ease. Here are a couple of other cool facts about him:

- On the Asian market, Alex Henery's urine is worth $400 per fluid ounce.

- Alex Henerey can dribble a football.

- Alex Henerey is a stunt double for Optimus Prime

- The moon is actually a comet that was once on course to hit earth... then Alex Henerey roundhouse kicked it into orbit.

- Alex Henerey once ordered a Big Mac at Burger King, and got one.

- Alex Henerey once worked as a weatherman for the San Diego evening news. Every night he would make the same forecast: Partly cloudy with a 75% chance of Pain.
