Nubs

I guess, all i ever see on their boards are Nub this Nub that...And no i dont flame on their boards I dont even post anything. I just like to see stuff about their recrouting scheme and stuff and why they think they "will" win the north next year

 
Nub is a shorter version of noob, which is a shorter version of noobie. Which is just tech slang for somebody new that doesn't understand things... It's the best they can do with Nebraska so... whatever blows their hair back.

 
I like to spend time reading on boards of other teams in the big 12, and honestly ive never seen a fan base more envious of another program/fan base as i have Kansas St. of Nebraska. funny you go to ksufans and you see nothing but stories about nebraska recruiting this, that, turner gill this, that, Pelini this and that.

And yea I check out those boards every once in a while and oftentimes its 50% or more about the Huskers or other North teams. Tigerboard averages about 80% posts about other teams unless it's during a Mizzou game.

Must suck to be those fans sometimes.

True! It's like huskerboard v.2 over there . . . except with more bitterness and blind hope.

 
NUB is also a military slang term meaning "non-useful body". Usually referring to the new guys who don't know what they're doing or aren't qualified to do it.

 
Okay people, the term Nubs as it pertains to Nebraska is the way most Nebraskans pronunciate Nebraska as in Nub-ras-ka. Hence the shortened word Nubs as in plural for Nubraskans.

Now of course, the oh so clever rival message boards conveniently use the internet techie slang as double meaning for Nub who is someone who has had the opportunity to learn something new, but never did, and is therefore idiotic/stupid.

It's basically a new spin on the old and tired "the N on Nebraska's helmets standing for knowledge" knee slapper.

 
It's OK, we call teams KSUcks, sCUm, mechicken, gayhawks, texass, ... I'm actually grasping at what we call Mizzou fans, help me out here ...
