NYC or bust!!!!!!

Eric the Red

Team HuskerBoard
Well kids, if anyone is going to be in the New York City area, I will be at the IRISH ROGUE on 356 West 44th Street, between 8th and 9th Ave. I'll be partying with the New York Society for Nebraska watching the Huskers walk away from Columbia with the spoils.

It will bring back old memories of the old New York Husker Hangout, the Bear Bar, during the 1997-98 seasons, where my favorite Husker buddy, Biggy, used to watch every game. We got hammered dozens of times and then took the bus home to Jersey.

Not only will I bring my voice, but goodies. Huskerboard.com will be holding a free raffle for all Husker fans in attendance. I just stopped at Husker Hounds today and ran up a huge bill on Blackshirts tab. The raffle is free and will take place during halftime and between the 3rd and 4th quarter. All you need to do is fill out a ticket and place it in the container. If anyone has any questions about the location and/or festivities reply or contact me via PM.

GO BIG RED

Have a great time! I am sure Blackshirt doesn't mind the tab, he swims in the cash afterall right?

Awww crap, Biggie's gonna be there? I better call VISA ASAP to get your card capped off. That guy drinks like it's his job.

And no Dave I dont swim in the cake, I only dry off with it after showering. :thumbs

Seriously though, the fact that Eric is a native Jersey guy explains more than his filthy mouth & scumbag baseball affiliation -- it shows you that Husker Nation is a powerful thing. Him & his buddy Big had none of the typical reasons to get on the Husker wagon - we weren't fresh off a championship, they didnt have family connections to the U, hell they even practically lost some friends over the deal, with all of the other options for teams to follow in the area. So the fact that they chose Nebraska and became diehard fans simply based on their connection with the Husker watch groups & some damn good instinct is testament to the tradition we have built at Nebraska, largely due to the strong character people that make up the fan base. And ETR & Big are definitely assets to that base.

So here's to Eric making the right decision and Going Big Red! :wasted

Had he not had the cajones to make the trip to Lincoln by himself, and try picking me up at WC's one night, this board probably wouldnt exist.

And dont forget to land some new 5 star Board Recruits - I didnt send The Closer out there for nothin. Have a helluva time drinking our 'skers to a dubya, and buy yourself and Biggie a round or 4 on the board. It can come outta Dave's stipend. ;)

Yesterday I had the honor of joining the Nebraska Society of New York at the Irish Rogue and it was everything and more than I could have expected. Marcee, the chapter president, welcomed me and allowed me to fit right in.

I'll have pictures and more later about the party.

Thanks to everyone at the chapter and hope to see a few of you on the board.

Thanks, eric

Good to hear. Welcome to any NY Huskers checking out the board, we look fwd to hearing from you, no matter what the subject is.

Have a safe trip back Eric.
