Four-Star Recruit
i noticed this week that javario burkes jumped ahead of mike smith as the starting left tackle. i know that the word "or" is in between their names, but before this week mike smith was listed first.

personally i would rather have burkes inside at guard or at right tackle. to me he is just too big to be agile enough for the left tackle spot. look at nicks for example. he was too big for left tackle in the pros even though scouts raved about his feet, so the saint moved him inside to guard and is now the starter at LG.

i just think that with the level of athletes in todays game and more offenses using the zone blocking scheme where guards don't pull as much, the need for slimmer agile tackles a need.

what do you all think?

I think as of right now, NO ONE on the offensive line should be pulling. Everytime I have seen them running a play where an offensive lineman is supposed to pull, they either miss their block totally or they are late getting to where they need to be leaving the RB exposed.

I think Burkes skill on the basketball court should translate well for his mobility and footwork. It is good that he is back ahead of Smith who is struggling on the O-Line.
