Octavien's comments

Well, just as I thought.. Octavien was over-emotional and regretted what he said. Maybe after review he'll use it as motivation and follow Bowman's lead of giving up his blackshirt. Although, Octo and Bowman and Grixby are probably the only ones deserving of their blackshirts right now. But, I'd like to see a few guys.. Octo, Bowman, maybe Potter band together and try and reinvigorate our defense.
Agreed.

Octavian and Bowman are going to be the saviors of this defense from an emotional standpoint. I hope they step up and require 1000% from everyone going forward.

Yeah, Cally also mentioned today that they found "different" problems with the NU defense, in reviewing the Ball State tape. As if there weren't enough from the USC game, we now have additional problems to address on defense. Don't worry, though, I'm sure that the coaches will "review the tape" and "correct the errors" with the defense. Thank you, Captian Obvious Callahan!!!!!
Should we abbreviate it COC?

I seriously dont agree with the booing, the players know their doing bad, I give all blame on the coaches. If Saban can turn around ALABAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How can Cally not do it in 4 YEARS. If we as fans are mad about this team watch the game and say nothing. Or like Steve said just leave. I was at the USC game, I didnt boo I wasnt happy but I didnt boo the players. As students their doing more than I do. Give them respect. Maybe Cally and his staff can make practice a little harder. Like I just was told NU does not practice in pads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What does this mean we are doing little more than walk through practices redic. Listen to Octo, shut up and watch the game if you want to say something cheer the team on or duct your pie hole shut.

maybe a little venting on the board will reduce the frustration at the game?

i dunno, but i can tell you this, the message WILL BE HEARD, if and when the sell out streak is broken! even Pud can't ignore that and the pressure i would expect he is getting from the big boosters now.

then again, i could be entirtely wrong here too, only time will tell, but i would like to be a mouse in Steve's office and hear the conversations!

I'm glad he said it. No matter what happens nebraska fans should never boo our team. He is out there working his a$$ off for us (one of the few huskers on d that is doing it) and we are booing them.

Booing is for colorado fans not husker nation

Octavien is going to apolagize!!! I just heard on the Big 12 Conference call hosted by Rivals. He is planning on making it public soon. He was just very emotional coming out of the game and he was defending his team and coaches, and he didn't realize what he said until later. He came to Callahan to discuss the mistake he made.
As one of my friends states. One of the stupidest things in all of sports is to interview a coach or player minutes after coming off the field or court. They have been emotionally drained and are not in the right "press" frame of mind. Its just reporters searching for a sound bite. Its dumb.

Booing may not be the answer, but the team and coach need to know the fans displeasure. Always giving players and coaches 'the benefit of the doubt' is the reason this team has slipped to being an average to above average team compared to where the 'husker nation' expects it to be. Booing may not be for husker nation, but neither is the $hit that's being put on the field. :bonez
