Offensive Identity

I liked the offense. Only one time I questioned Beck, which it came after a first down and we threw it three straight times.
And that drive should have resulted in a TD if TA doesn't throw it terribly.
I was impressed with Beck and TA, even if he his completion percentage wasn't great.

Completion percentage was iffy, but they more than make up for it by actually stretchin the field vertically.

I mean there was still that drive where he decided to throw on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd down and called the worst possible plays for Tommy as a QB. Why do we have Ameer and still struggle with this concept..?

I don't think we were worried about winning the game at that point. Just trying to practice certain plays, I'd guess.

Edit: Oh, I guess it was 14-7 at the time. I thought it was later in the game when I posted this.

It was 7-7 or 14-7 at the time. Maybe not worried, but still.

On the three straight passes, TA had a wide open receiver that he waited too long and underthrew him on 2nd down. Should have been TD.

Good lord.

Passing the ball is not a bad thing.

Who said that?

Tim Beck did great today, and the only criticism of those three straight pass plays is a poor one.

We'd just got two first downs in a row with Ameer, who left the game on the next play. Beck called a play action pass on first down to try and get the defense sleeping and Tommy had a poor throw. Dont' remember the details about the second pass play but Tommy made a bad read on it, and then, yeah, I mean you usually pass on 3rd and 10.

He finally has a QB qho can throw a really good 15+ ball. He has WR's who can stretch the field. A very good o-line and the best RB in the nation....

I loved how he made the formations look similar, but called very different plays.. made it almost impossible to defend.

Super impressed with the play calls and execution.

Now lets do that against the great teams.
