Offensive Theory

Hard to remember since it was only a few months ago, but a lot of folks around here were excited about the defense and worried that an untested quarterback and inexperienced receiver corps might make for another 9 - 4 season.

And that's what happened.

Happens a lot in college football as teams transition.

Well actually, no. A lot of teams in transition aren't good enough to go 8 - 3, play in their conference championship and go to a bowl game. (Heck, in 2001 we had a Heisman Trophy winner at quarterback, and he didn't even get us to the Big 12 Title Game)

So by all means, let's start firing coaches and make Nebraska famous for its short leash, impatient fans and unrealistic expectations. Could land us the next Bill Callahan.
Yeah, you're right. Shawn Watson's job performance has been totally acceptable for a man making six figures.

& BTW how would it land us the next Bill Callahan? I'm not saying fire Pelini, I like Pelini. But I feel, at the very least, that the entire offensive staff needs to be reevaluated at the end of the season

You bet, for a mere $350,000 SW has NU's mighty wco steamrolling defenses to the tune of them being ranked 82nd in the nation!! Yeah....so lay off the guy, ok??

If we fired SW...well.....I suppose we couldn't do much worse......but still....we fired Coz and look how Bo screwed up our defense!!.....errr wait.......

He got us to the MNC though! :sarcasm

I think you hit the nail on the head. Everyone knew going into this season our offense would struggle because we lost Ganz, Peterson, Swift, Slauson, et.al. People just seem to fail to recognize or understand that I guess.
