Official 2011 College World Series Thread

California defeats Texas A&M 7-3. California moves on to play the loser of tonights game between #4South Carolina and #1Virginia on Thursday night. Texas A&M is Elininated for the CWS. Teams for state of Texas= 0-4 at the CWS.

 
#4South Carolina beats #1Virginia 7-1 to take control of Bracket 2. #1 Virgina will play Thursday against California in an elimination game.

Wednesday June 22nd Results

#6 Vanderbilt beat #3 North Carolina 5-1. Vanderbilt (2-1) moves on to play Florida (2-0) and will have to beat them twice to advance to the Championship Series. North Carolina is eliminated from the CWS.

 
#1 Virginia beat California 8-1. Virginia advances to play South Carolina and will have to beat them twice to advance to the CWS Championship Series. California is eliminated.

The new stadium is amazing. Lot more space easy to get in an out of. Was able to get a parking space for 10 bucks at 14th and Cass. The concourse is really nice you can sit there and watch the game if you want. The one thing that is pretty crazy is the net that covered behind the plate is no vertical. My seat tonight was right behind Home plate row 17. I had 3 balls popup pretty close to me. This is not a compliant made it a little more fun.

Side note: The hospitality room had some buffalo chicken sandwiches and brownies and they were both really good.

Was at the game with the old man and saw a hell of a game between Virginia and South Carolina. Virginia could've put it away but shot themselves in the foot on several occassions. On a side note the South Carolina fans that I sat by were cussing at the out fielders and throwing crap onto the field toward the 11th or 12th inning.

 
#4 South Carolina defeated #1 Virginia 3-2 in 13 innings. South Carolina advances to Championship Series and Virginia is eliminated.

 
Heck of a game going on right now. Tied 1-1 in the top of the 11th inning. Florida has really blown some great opportunities the last couple innings. In bottom of 9th they had bases loaded with no outs. First guy hits a grounder and they get runner out at home and next guy hits into double play. In 10th Florida had runner on 2nd and batter gets him but runner is thrown out at home.

 
South Carolina scores in top of the 11th after getting a single. He then stole 2nd and catcher threw ball in outfield so runner advanced to 3rd and the center fielder overthrew 3rd basemen so the run scored. Two errors in one play---- Killer.

Florida now batting in bottom of 11th.
