So much of top 25 ranking is based on perception/reputation/conference affiliation and not on merit. It's laughable.

There is zero doubt if Duke had an SEC logo with exact same schedule and wins thus far they would be ranked top 10 or top 5.




 
Kanell is fed up. I can tell by hos body language on tv and his tone on radio. Hes becoming more and more argumentative eaxh day. And, i expect him to be workin for Fox within the year. Lol

 
Since the point last year when Kliff Kingsbeury had Texas Tech 7-0 and ranked #10 getting many to rave about how fast he turned the program around and pointing to him as what can happen if you get a new coach, Texas Tech is 3-7 with two of those wins over Central Arkansas and UTEP and the last six losses are by an average of 21 points.

On the Duke comment...you have to look no further than the Mississippi schools every year for that truth. Ole Miss and Mississippi State are usually absolute crap, but get through their first three non-conference powderpuffs and find themselves ranked in the teens or better.

It's early. They haven't played anyone, and LSU might be the worst team in the SEC west. It'll all shake out, whether or not you believe in the SEC media conspiracy.

This is why I love the idea of the playoff committee not coming out with rankings until late October. It will show a greater body of work to prove why one team is ranked above another.

This is an excellent point. You can't stop the media and coaches from voting, but the "official" ranking waiting til October is good.

 
Tennessee just got called for intentional grounding on a pass that fell three yards from two eligible receivers. Gotta help Georgia out somehow.
