*****OFFICIAL 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics Discussion Thread*****

I cringe on any less-than-perfect landing on the slopestyle events after hearing all the quotes about how dangerous and awful the runs are from the athletes.

I'm looking forward to luge and skeleton races.

The most badass sports and risky too. Up to 95mph and +5 g-force. I can handle curling sport

Did you see the video of the guy that crashed, was sliding down the track with his sled, and managed to get back on it and continue?

lol, fail NBC yet again. "We're too lazy to provide the full translation, so we'll just summarize entire paragraphs with a few words."
Main failure was (and is) Bob Costas (sp?). Right off the bat, political crap.
Was watching tonight and at the end of the telecast Bob had on some russian talk show host. I guess they're gonna bring him on a few times throughout the olympics. Anyway, Bob was asking a lot of political type questions with some olympic connections. At the end Bob said they would bring the guy back on a few times and would dive more into depth with him about political issues instead of talking about olympics "so much" like they did this time. I cant believe nbc keeps letting him get spun off on all his political BS.

Quick recap from today - USA gets two medals. Sage Kotsenburg wins Gold in the new Slopestyle Snowboarding event and 2010 Hannah Kearney falls short of becoming back-to-back Women's Moguls Olympic Champion by finishing with a bronze. We are also in third place for team figure skating with 34 points after Meryl Davis and Charlie White finished first in team short dance.

What to look for on Sunday - Men's Downhill Alpine Skiing (How will Bode Miller finish? He won bronze in this event in 2010), the finale of the first-ever figure skating team event (can the US medal?), Women's Slopestyle Finals (watch American Jamie Anderson, she had the second best score in the qualifying round) and Men's Singles Luge.

Can we please add a spoilers section to this? Just saw the Bode update and I was wanting to wait and see that on primetime...

People can use [ spoiler] [/ spoiler] to hide results that haven't been broadcast yet. You can type what it's about then put the results between the tags.

Note: I've added spaces so that the wording shows up. There shouldn't be any spaces to get it to work correctly.

Figure skating isn't really my thing anyway but I'm not sure about this new team competition. Considering both the gold and silver medals were locked up after two of the four stages. And the US would have to have a disaster not to win the bronze. So much for competition.

The 15 year old female Russian figure skater was amazing to watch. I've never seen a skater spin so fast.
