*****OFFICIAL 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics Discussion Thread*****

It's tough, yeah, with some of the snow conditions. Not that it's a hardship never experienced elsewhere, but I get the feeling it has been more frequent at Sochi than other places simply because of the location, if nothing else.

I don't think anyone is going to question that White is the best male halfpipe snowboarder that has ever lived, and is probably still the best around right now. It just wasn't his night (along with a LOT of the rest of the field in the finals). It would have been nice to see him get a third consecutive gold, but in a way, it's also nice to see someone else get it. And Podladtchikov deserved it, he put down a great run that only White could have beaten, if he'd been able to get it done cleanly.

It's not how you want to see a medals round contested, with so many failing to put in clean runs, but it was what it was.

I really hope Rio is taking notes on all of the crappy accomodations and misfortunes Sochi has had thus far. I don't see Russia getting either Winter of Summer games again for a long, long time.

I made a post about Kate Hansen dancing on my tumblr and somehow it blew up and has over 30,000 likes or reblogs and it's the most annoying thing ever.

But maybe if I get to a certain milestone she'll go on a date with me !
