**Official 2019 Mariners/Mets Misery Thread**

And the Mets have lost four in a row.  Scored a total of four runs in three of those games.   :bang

I'm used to this so I never got my hopes up.  They have a stint every season where they look like they finally got it only to go and kick me in the nuts when it counts.  Had hopes they would get the wildcard then we played Atlanta and saw them imploding again like every season.

Fortunately the Philly pitchers let him off the hook in the bottom of the 9th

But seriously......

15-5.  Better than I even dared hoped possible.  If we had any semblance of an offense in those three losses against the Giants it could have been 17-3 or even 18-2.

Won 13 of the last 14 games.  19-6 since the All-Star break.  One game out of the Wild Card at the moment.

Now the schedule flips on it’s head.  27 of the next 34 games against teams that would be in the playoffs if they started today.  Put up or shut up time.  Have every chance to make a move.  And every chance to go back to being the Mets.

Running out of time here.  16-14 with four games to go in that 34 game stretch.  So not terrible.  But not enough to surge to a Wild Card Spot either.  Chance to sweep the Diamondbacks tomorrow before three against the Dodgers to close out that stretch.  That'll be tough but at least we throw both Thor and deGrom.

Might need to win 7 of the following 9 - @ Colorado, @ Cincinati, v Miami - to have any chace before the last three against Atlanta.  Thor and deGrom could combine to start 8 of the final 16 so there's that.

Would suck to have a Cy Young winner, Rookie of the Year, NL Leader in HR and a Top 5 average guy and miss the playoffs.

Alonso has a chance at the MLB Rookie HR record.

And this:

I didn't notice this last night but apparently the Mets scored 9 runs on 11 hits while blanking the DBacks on 9/11

Live look at Todd Frazier:

Get out the brooms!

Mets score 26 runs in the four-game series

Mets hit 13 home runs

Diamondbacks get 15 hits total

18-16 in those 34 games.  Not bad considering the competition.  Losing six in a row hurt.  Maybe not as much as giving up six runs in the ninth inning to lose another.  Would have been nice to not blow and eighth-inning lead (again) last night and get 2 out of 3 from the Dodgers.

15 games over .500 since the All-Star break.  But still 4 games out of the Wild Card.  13 games to go.

Probably need to win at least 7 of the next 10 - @ Colorado (3), @ Cincinnati (3), vs Miami (4) - to have any shot going into the final three games with Atlanta at home.
