So, to recap the "highlights" of the vaunted SEC regular-season schedules that Alabama and Georgia had to endure:

Alabama:

Beat 10-2 Ole Miss

Beat 8-4 Arkansas (plays Penn State tomorrow)

Beat a 7-5 Miami team that lost to Michigan State by 21

Beat a 7-6 Mississippi State team that lost the Liberty Bowl to Texas Tech by 27

Beat a 7-6 Tennessee team that lost to Purdue by 3

Georgia:

Beat 10-3 Clemson

Beat 9-3 Kentucky (plays Iowa tomorrow)

Beat an 8-4 Arkansas team (plays Penn State tomorrow)

Beat 7-6 South Carolina

Beat a 7-6 Tennessee team that lost to Purdue by 3

Yep.  Those are all their wins against Power 5 teams above .500.

Definitely meat-grinder schedules.

I think it was all in the cards.  When Bama whooped Georgia, the pollsters could have dropped the Bulldogs to #4, behind undefeated Cincy and 1 loss big ten champs (not named ohio state) Michigan.

Bama would have played Georgia in semi's...

That is what should have happened.  But, to ensure an all SEC national championship game would be played, and all eyes on the game ($$$$$$$$$$$$$$$) they split bama and georgia in the semi's.

SEC guaranteed to win the title - Bama vs Georgia

Networks cash in too

I need to put some more tape on my tinfoil hat though ;)

Yeah, I don't have a real issue with the rankings.  And I've been pushing for the G5 schools for years.

But Georgia was pretty deserving.  Honestly, without Michigan having the "tie-breaker" of a conference championship, Georgia could have been #2.

No, you are totally right.  I am being snotty  :(   because UGA and Bama are the best 2 teams this year by far.

I'm also still sour because the #1 Huskers beat Missouri in OT and dropped to #4.  I think that was in 96.

And Georgia didn't win it's conference.  It's not fair
