There are several really good teams this year. Hate to say it, but SEC looks like they got a lot going for them. Without the usual bias slant.
My Championship game is this in order:
1. Texas vs Ole Miss
2. Texas vs Alabama
3. Texas vs Georgia
4. Ole Miss/Alabama/Georgia (pick a combo)
The rest of the "power teams in play" will come down to Tennessee, Ohio State, USC, Miami, Penn State, Notre Dame, Oregon (in no particular order). Who knows, maybe Oklahoma, Missouri, Oklahoma State and Washington State will be included in that mix.
I see that Ohio State doesn't play anyone other than Oregon, Michigan and Nebraska. 2 of those teams are trending down, and one is trending up (GBR). Unless Penn State finally beats the Buckeyes for once in their life, we shall expect OSU to be among the top 4 teams and receiving the bye week. Although I expect Oregon to win at home against OSU this year.
Bottom line, I just don't think Ohio State will advance to the college football championship game. And I think their current team is living on the teet from the previously good Buckeye teams when it comes to hype and positioning. Yeah I said that. I believe it too. Don't hate, talk to your uncle in Ohio about that, not me. Just wait and see. They will fail to get to the championship game, and they will lose once or twice this year. This isn't one of the great OSU teams. This might be the most beatable Buckeye team we've seen since the Luke Fickell days. I don't think they are bad at all, I just think they aren't as good as any of the past OSU teams that were real contenders and finished with 2 losses at the end of the year, including the playoffs.
