First Quarter Observations

  • Nebraska's base defense is still the 4-3 two gap scheme, but we've also rolled out a 3-3-5 set a few times.
  • The overall tackling by the defense seems about the same as last week.
  • Interesting bit of information that all our defenders are now wearing wrist bands to help with defensive communication. This was John Papuchis' idea according to ESPN.
  • Our overall team speed on defense is still a major concern.
  • Offensively Tim Beck is calling a smart game so far....more play-action passing, and less straight drop back.
  • The way Arkansas State can line up so quickly on offense after a previous play is insane!

 
Why in the heck are we struggling with getting the right personnel group in the game??? Was carl that big of a part of our D that the new D coordinator is struggling this bad??? I thought Bo was the subject matter expert

 
Hate it when the D line runs staight at the qb w/o raising their hands. Someone please tell Elway he's not funny or hip.

I think we're over-doing it. It's not like they're going from Wishbone to Run-&-Shoot. Just PLAY!!!
