***Official B1G Championship Thread***

How can you be unprepared for a team you already prepared for and beat? Maybe Huskers don't get the obsession the Big10 has with making the Rose Bowl.

Listening to Bo now...the players didn't execute. Geez, can we start over? 4-5 years max on coaches of late. Oh oh, he just told Dirk that he is responsible.

They call helmet to helmet like that when the other guy doesn't have the ball. When the guy has the ball and hunkers down for contact, and helmets hit, they don't call it. That's how it's intended.

It was helmet to helmet on a block that wasn't necessary. They called it.

Edit - Meaning the helmet to helmet wasn't necessary, not the block itself.

Oh, and I'm not arguing in favor of the rule. But that is the rule. It was helmet to helmet (totally unintentional) and it was flagged. They don't care if Bell couldn't have moved his head...they care his helmet contacted the other guys on a block like that.

The biggest reason this play was flagged -- NO ATTEMP to wrap up --

Wrap up what? He was blocking...? I'm confused.

My point is just that in the view of the refs, if you're going to throw a block on someone up there, your helmet better not hit theirs. If it does and they see it, you'll be flagged. That's just the way it is these days.
