Five-Star Recruit
We sat right behind the bench and watched the demeanor of the team the whole game. Here’s what I saw on the sideline:
- The focus at the start was perfect. Guys looked great.
- Mo Berry was exhausted after the first defensive series. He rarely sat with the rest of the defense. He seemed off.
- When Huskers got up 17, multiple guys lost focus. Guys dancing on the sideline, guys telling jokes. Older guys effecting newer guys on both offense and defense alike.
- When they came out in the third quarter, most of the DBs were laughing and joking with some guy walking in stands behind bench that knew them well apparently. A bunch of non-game related b/s. Major distraction from the game as the offense was on the field.
- More dancing and messing around during timeouts. Especially RBs and DBs.
- Start of 4th QTR, defense comes off field complaining of holding after longest play in CU history. DBs looked defeated.
- After Huskers score, a lot of relief on their faces more than anything. Acted like they were surprised.
- Adrian constantly coming off field frustrated and looking like he was at a loss.
- Oline looked gassed after first few series and never seemed to recover.
- The coaching staff was all over the place in the 4th. Not organized, coaches running around looking for players, and not huddling with groups as frequently as the first half.
The good news:
- The younger guys we’ve picked up this last year are way bigger than some of the current juniors/seniors. They just look different.
- JoJo Domann, Lee Jr., Garrett Nelson, Ben Stille, Sullivan, Daniels Brothers all focused all the time.
- The QBs group was always focused, always trying to learn and talk to teammates. 4 great young men right there!
- no pi$$ balloons were thrown our way.
