Good thing we have plenty of depth on that O Line...

Does Thompson make it through the whole game today?

I suspect he will get sacked 3+ times, hurried 6+ times, and will throw 2-3 int's. This season's IL defense is simply that stout, and this combined with Huskers' dismal OL talent spells disaster for Thompson passing today.

I just don’t see them improving that much. They haven’t proved themselves that much against a big pass play offense. The only pass first team they have played (Indiana) they lost to. Their DBs have high ratings because they don’t have to make play after play when they face the run. They just have to make a play once in a while while they have full energy because they are not often targeted. I’d like to see a heavy air attack by NU to test these DBs. Get the ball out quick (don’t trust OL) and make the DBs tackle in space. I think this game will be high-scoring. Both teams will score at least 24 imo.

My Prediction: 34-30 NU, with a 10 point Husker lead held in the 4th Q (something XHCSF could not do)

Moving post to this thread.

Our spotty offense will struggle mightily against a very stout Illini defense.  Our defense likewise, will be hard pressed to keep Illinois from scoring.  I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see Nebraska scoring more than a couple field goals, while Illinois runs for another 600+ yard day and 30+ Points.

Nothing but love and good vibes for the Huskers today!!!  Saturday afternoon football in Lincoln!!!!
