***Official Men's NCAA Tournament Discussion Thread***

I am beginning to have some doubts about the job the selection commeetee has done this year. Thurs/Fri 1st round filled with (?)upsets(?) and todays first two games being your basic blow outs. Are they being true to the rules of seeding or are they more interested in putting teams in areas that will maximize crouds and revenue for the NCAA. I begin to think the latter.

Since they switched to the pod system several years ago, where you are seeded has a lot less to do with where you play. That's why Arizona (#6) and New Mexico (#3) both got to play in Salt Lake City which was the closest site to their respective campuses. Michigan and Michigan St. both got to play in Detriot despite being #3 and #4 seeds in different regions.

Yeah, but it's the three higher-seeded teams dispatching teams that won as higher-seeded teams in their first game. I'd say it's going according how how the committee seeded them.
