*****Official Northwestern Game Discussion Thread*****

Do you want me to die from alcohol poisoning?

Both teams having subpar offensive games, but we find a way to fumble and bumble worse than the Wildcats. The Wildcats look like they're not even fully interested in this game, and we're still losing

Can't see us winning out even if we do win this game. Something is seriously wrong, and its just not one thing, but a lot of little things.

GBR!!!

Don't think that the two standing ovations for fair catches on ABC didn't get noticed by our administration.

I just long for the 6' 300 lb offensive linemen/road graders that we used to have. Old man.....err I mean "championship" football....

Second Quarter Impressions:

  • Glad to see Tim Beck trying to establish the zone-read. This MUST become Nebraska's bread & butter play. It's what set up the Kenny Bell TD.
  • I also like the QB Power runs and Speed Options from the Shotgun. These are nice compliments to the zone-read especially if Taylor is reading his keys correctly.
  • Defense is playing very well. Great game plan so far. Give credit to Northwestern....both of their TD's were good calls and well executed.
  • Special Teams however is killing us!!! Whoever our Special Teams coach is please just hand off those duties to someone else on the coaching staff ASAP.
  • This team still lacks very poor fundamentals in all three phases of the game.
  • Tim Beck please stop calling PA passes on 3rd & short! Just run the ball and earn the yard.
  • Jamal Turner is the most underutilized talent on Nebraska's team.

Things I Would Like To See In The Second Half:

  • Keep establishing the zone-read, but also sprinkle in some power runs like Power-O using Cross or Heard.
  • Get the TE's more involved in the game.
  • If you're going to pass....use play-action which gives Taylor a bigger window to throw into. Don't do any drop-back passing unless it's absolutely necessary.
  • Setting up a screen game to Kenny Bell, Jamal Turner, or Ameer Abdullah would be helpful as well.
  • Defensively keep doing what you're doing. The bump press coverage by our corners is giving our D-Line & Linebackers time to make plays.
  • Bottom line.....STAY FOCUSED THROUGH THE ADVERSITY.
