*** Official Penn State Game Discussion Thread ***

First Quarter Impressions:

  • This horse has been beaten to death dedhoarse , but it still holds true....our defensive line pass rush is beyond just poor.....it is becoming unacceptable.
  • LOVE the fact that Jamal Turner is finally getting more touches! The kid is just electric when the ball is in his hands.
  • The ISO-I Back pitch or toss play from the I-formation is money. Keep running it until they prove they can stop it.
  • We seriously need to quit the absolutely stupid & costly penalties.
  • Taylor looks good so far. The throw across his body to Turner was an amazing pass.

Things I would like to see in the 2nd quarter:

  • More power & counter football out of the I-formation. Penn State's linebackers seem to be having a tough time keying in on their assignments.
  • Screen plays to Kenny Bell or Jamal Turner would be helpful with Penn State's over pursuit.
  • Stay patient and keep wearing down their front seven. This game will start to open up for us in the 2nd half.
