I'd like to see a statement game like Wisky had against USF or Clemson against GT.......A complete blowout win by NU.

I agree and that would be nice.  However even if they don't, it can be very useful to make some mistakes now and fix them by the time Ohio State comes calling.

We'll have a good idea if he suits up and is out for pre-game drills. They still may not play him, but if he's in pads I think he plays.

Kids have their Husker gear on, wife has her UNLV shirt on, and me, wearing my Rex Burkhead jersey and ready to go.  Let's get this season going.

The first game is so important.  The timing between the QB and his receivers.  The cohesiveness of the o-line against competition who are not teammates. The audibles against a defense who does not know your plays.  The defense swarming to the ball yet still maintaining responsibility of assignment.  Clock management.  Special teams.  The Center/QB exchange.  The butterflies that are as big as they will be in post season. I remember the season opener every season from JV through all four years at college.  Forget the record or size of the opponent.  This is foundation. 

Very important indeed.  May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the britches of who ever started that thread about the possibility of another storm delay/cancellation!!!!
