Spain Escape With A 3-2 Win Over Saudi Arabia In Friendly

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-uyYuNOtFPk&feature=player_embedded#!

Fernando Llorente's goal in the last minute of stoppage time saved Spain from an embarrassing draw to Saudi Arabia. Playing without Fernando Torres and Cesc Fabregas (who are still recovering from injuries), Spain looked rusty and straight out confused at times. Iker Casillas came out to block a corner kick, but misjudged the height of Hawsawi who headed it in. Iniesta and Villa also ran into each other; thankfully neither were seriously injured.

Spain Beat South Korea 1-0 in Friendly

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXW2680clpw

Spain won again in dramatic fashion thanks to an 86th minute strike from Jesus Navas (his first goal for Spain). Spain looked very shaky on defense again. Pepe Reina magically blocked 2 shots at point blank range, saving the game for Spain. In the 35th minute, Fabregas (who apparently has recovered from his broken leg) banged one off the crossbar, which would have easily beat the keeper. Valdes came on for Reina in the second half and showed why he's the third string. In the 83rd minute, off a free kick, Valdes badly misplayed the ball which was headed wide of goal by Lee Jung-Soo.

hopefully we will see Torres in the last friendly against Poland next week...

Rio Ferdinand, England's Captain, To Miss World Cup

Ferdinand suffered a nasty injury to his left knee after a tackle in practice from Emile Heskey. Michael Dawson has been called up to replace him. This coming after Ferdinand was handed the captain armband in February after revelations that John Terry was having an affair with one of his teammates' wives.

Drogba To Miss World Cup After Breaking Arm In Friendly Against Japan

A collision with Marcus Tanaka resulted in the Ivorian captain breaking his right arm. He told teammate Kolo Toure that he will miss the World Cup...

I can't imagine playing with a broken arm. He would be in an enormous amount of pain, especially if it came into contact with another player. I don't think Ivory Coast has any chance without him.

Robben Injured In Friendly Win Over Hungary

Robben hurt his left hamstring just 4 minutes from stoppage after attempting a backheel pass. Robben was immediately taken to the hospital for an MRI scan. Netherlands head coach Bert van Marwijk confirmed Robben will not be traveling with the rest of the team to South Africa tonight.

I like the way the US played today against Australia. Wasn't their sharpest in the defense, but I think Buddle asserted his spot beside Altidore next week against England. I liked Findlay, but he just couldn't finish.

I think the team that started today is going to start next week, except trade Goodson for Onyewu and Findlay for Altidore.
