Assessing the talent: Super quick off the ball. Great drive blocker. Real thick in the legs. Could also play center. Rivals.com says he ran a 4.92 forty.

Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 99% This is a virtual lock. He has been the most vocal of the 2004 class as far as contacting other recruits to talk about Nebraska. He is very mature and well spoken and adores Nebraska. He has been on several unofficial recruiting trips so far this year, including the spring game that tallied over 60,000 humans. If he could he strap on the pads and put that red jersey on now if you would let him.

Roark had a chance to go to the OU-NU game last weekend. He has also been one of Nebraska's best recruiters. He recently got a chance to call Dan Doering . A five star OLineman from Illinois. Here's an article from Omaha World Herald

Roark solid
Nebraska recruit Craig Roark made his way into hallway outside the NU locker room after the game. He was hoping to show some support for his future teammates, but Roark couldn't get all the way inside.

The offensive guard from Ada, Okla., committed to Nebraska last summer. He made an unofficial recruiting trip to Norman Saturday. But rest assured, Roark said, he's still sure to sign with the Huskers on Feb. 2.

"The second half was a lot better," Roark said. "I think we're getting better."

Roark, one of 17 NU commitments in class currently ranked No. 2 nationally by rivals.com, took advantage of the trip Saturday to chat with a few Nebraska prospects. Reggie Smith of Edmond, Okla., and Illinois lineman Dan Doering also attended the game.

"I got to talk to Doering for about 20 or 30 minutes," Roark said. "I tried to be kind of discreet about it, since I was here at Oklahoma. But we're visiting (Lincoln) the same weekend in December. I think (Nebraska) might get him."

Roark epitomizes the type of leadership NU has been missing amongst some of its players the last few years. This guy gets it! He wants to win and win bad.

 
Sounds like he has a real good head on his shoulders. Very important characteristic that is often overlooked. Good catch!!

 
Craig had an excellent time in Lincoln this past weekend, which was expected. And apparently his Dad was just floored with the experience, and is now more convinced than ever that NU is the perfect place for his son to develop. This is good news - finally kids are starting to look at NU again as THE place to go for professional development - it seemed we lost that edge over the past several years which had gained us a huge advantage in the early 90's.

Craig mentioned that the person he enjoyed hanging out with most was Raymond Henderson, who he will hopefully convince to commit. They went out to dinner, the NU-Creighton game which they said had an electric atmosphere, and the NU football awards ceremony - so Craig including the others got to meet quite a few of the current Huskers, and were very impressed with their hosts and the total experience.

Another interesting note is that Craig's brother Chad is a HS standout, and our guys are already grooming him to go Big Red. Overall Craig Roark looks to be an excellent get for the Callahan braintrust.

This guy is Mr. Husker

 
This guy seems to be doing incredible at the Army camp. He pancaked DeMarcus Granger 3 times today, and apparently was the only lineman that brought the intensity both days. I can't wait to see him and his brother play here together.
