Interesting comments tonight pre Thurs night game between the Chargers and Vikings. Both teams lead the league in the most OL to rotate through the 2025 season. Both also playing with multiple RB's do to injuries...Whitworth and Fitz were asked about how that could impact a team. Both talked about timing, vision (what starters wanted vs guys rotated in), chemistry, nuances, known habits, route running, speed, reading blocks etc....Talked about Herbert having the most passing yards, but been tons of INT's, sacks and pressures. Leads the NFL in those IIRC. Talked about Herbert forcing stuff to make plays to make up for lack of run game...But agreed that Herbert is "Him".

Huskers, multiple left tackles, injuries, shuffled OL, no clear RB 2 etc...Leading B1G in sacks allowed. 131st in Sacks allowed in nation....QB getting crushed, maligned run game, taking on too much at QB to cover issues....Sounded like they were talking about NU.

Interesting to me to hear from NFL guys. Not excusing it, but a different perspective that everything is jacked up (missed calls, wrong routes etc)

Definitely more to it than most fans understand, or are willing to understand.

As a Huskers and Vikings fan, I can not tell you how maddening it is where it seems that year in and year out, I am watching the same team on Saturday and then again on Sunday. If any of you watched that game last night, you watched Carson Wentz be indecisive with the ball, slooow to get it out of his hand, zero pocket presence, limited mobility, and took a pot load of sacks. I spent the entire night wondering who I pissed off upstairs that forces me to watch this level of dysfunctional football week in and week out with seemingly no hope for improvement.

I feel your pain as a life long Vikings fan as well. You'd think one year they would get it right... oh but they did until Anderson missed a field goal.

That game was brutal. I didn’t think Wentz would last the whole game tbh. Seemed like he was hit every play.

The parallels are interesting-

Raiola is a better QB than Wentz (and possibly, sadly, McCarthy) but they are both holding the ball too long and staring at receivers who are open and not pulling the trigger. This is made worse by an offensive line that is, admittedly, much worse in the Vikings situation in that they are dealing with 2nd and 3rd stringers playing tons of minutes. The parallel between Knaak coming in the game seemingly out of position and what the Vikings have done with Brandel were not lost.

Both teams seemingly get away from the running game way too fast. Holgo I am still not sure about, KOC just loves to the throw the ball because he is addicted to "explosives".

Both teams have WR components that other teams would dream about. The Vikings were without Addison for 3 games but when he is on the field, that duo is excellent. Unfortunately offensive line and QB indecision are holding them back from being the weapons that they should be.

Both teams have competent TE but aren't seeing the ball for the aforementioned reasons.

The defense is not quite so scary close- The Vikings D-line shouldn't be easy to run on but they are. Javon Harvgrave has been a disaster in that he is sledded easily and his pass rush ability has taken a giant hit. Jonathon Allen has not been the game wrecker he once was. The Vikings miss Van Ginkel (who some may remember was possibly going to come to NU before he decided on Wisconsin) more than most people realize and Dallas Turner just has no desire/ motor.

Once the offense starts to get bogged down the issues on defense on both teams get exploited.

GO BIG RED!!!!!!!!
SKOL VIKINGS !!!!!!!!!!
