one question for the board that seriously gets me

how can big name programs across the country. programs better than ours at this time, play FROSH WR. not only play them but make them the go to guys. yet here we hear they "dont know the offense". correct me if i am wrong but all spring didnt we hear a ton about gilleylan (sp?) and all fall didnt we hear how good Khiry Cooper was and isnt will henry 6'6 running a 4.4 forty?

How come other true frosh can "learn" the offense at these high powered schools yet hear at NU our potential playmakers that our young "dont know the offense yet"

the running game needs to step up, but the ability to pass the ball effectively downfield helps teams run the ball. do you think knoshawn moreno would be what he is if Georgia threw the ball 3 yards all the time

I'm more confused by our non-use of tight ends than wide receivers. With everybody stacking the line to stop the run, why aren't we throwing over the linebackers' heads to our tight ends more often? McNeill should be a serious threat to make a 15 yard gain every time the opposing defense sees him on the field. That should loosen up the running lanes in no time.

I'm not sure Travis. I think the situations might be different. I would have to find if this idea is happening to freshmen that are beating out returning starters. Or returning veteran players.

I have seen Paul & Holt out there, even Curenksi.

Basically my thought is that if you get an opportunity - even if it's just one - do something with it. That is what normally happens to the newcomers. Just go back a few years ago. MoPurify had just 5 catches through the first four games. A few games later he made a big play against Texas. After that he was the go-to guy.

I do like Swift out there. But it would be good to see a burner or a deep threat on the other end.

It's a good question but next season the spots should be wide open.

i agree and disagree, if they can make an instant impact then they need to be on the field, i am sure that guys like crabtree, maclin and some other high profile youngsters would jump ship if they heard "redshirt" on any of their recruiting visits. I know we are trying to build something, but Bo and Co. may see something that we don't in a lot of our young guys, that if there could be a possiblity that there is a sleeping giant getting to ready to awaken in the near future.
