The Sun Devils missed the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year after finishing seventh in the Pac-12.

Returning Players

First baseman Spencer Torkelson will lead the offensive charge after hitting .320 last season with 59 runs scored, 12 doubles, 25 home runs, and 53 RBI. Catcher Lyle Lin hit .312 a season ago with 30 runs scored, 16 doubles, and a pair of home runs. Carter Aldrete also returns to the lineup after hitting .293 in 2018 with 10 doubles, 3 home runs, and 31 RBI.

Alec Marsh should lead the weekend rotation after posting a 3.89 ERA last year in 71.2 innings pitched with 64 strikeouts. Sam Romero will try to bounce back from a 6.18 ERA in 2018 over 67 innings with 61 strikeouts. Boyd Vander Kooi was solid out of the bullpen last season with a 3.00 ERA in 36 innings with 35 strikeouts.

Outlook for 2019

Arizona State has some key players coming back in 2019, and they those players continue to improve we could see them push towards the top of the Pac-12.

Arizona State is currently 11-0, after beating Pepperdine on Tuesday and a three game sweep of Michigan State, RPI is 12, SOS is 114, Non-Con is 117.

Arizona State is up to 15-0, all of their games so far except for 1 have been at home, they swept last week beating Call State Fullerton and Xavier (sweep) RPI is 6, SOS is 98, Non-con is 99.

 
Arizona State is now 19-0 (3-0) and have yet to play more than one true road game, they beat New Mexico State and swept Washington State, RPI 16, SOS 156, Non-Con 133.

Arizona State is 22-1 (5-1 Pac-12) after beating California Baptist and winning the series against Oregon 2-1, RPI 11, SOS 126, Non-Con 133

Arizona State is 26-4 (9-3 Pac-12) after losing to Long Beach State in the midweek and losing the series 1-2 against USC. RPI 23, SOS 161, Non-Con 182.

 
Arizona State is 27-7 (10-5 Pac-12) after losing to UNLV in the midweek and losing the series 1-2 against Oregon State. RPI 38, SOS 141, Non-Con 220.

 
Arizona State is 30-8 (12-6 Pac-12) after beating Seattle U in the midweek and winning the series against Utah 2-1, RPI 42, SOS 164, Non-Con 232.

Heard on Early Break this morning Arizona St, as team has 71 HR's, including one with 21.  Nebraska as a team has 21.  That's a Lee Corso yo stat.
