Game Notes: Nebraska leads the all-time series against Northwestern, 11-10, dating back to the first meeting between the schools in 1897. In Evanston, the Wildcats hold a 5-3 edge over the Huskers.

Northwestern is 19-22 overall this season with a 6-9 record in Big Ten play. On Wednesday night, the Wildcats topped Illinois State by a 6-3 margin after going 1-2 at Michigan State last weekend.

Head Coach Spencer Allen is 78-123 in his fourth year overall at Northwestern. Allen is assisted by Josh Reynolds, Dusty Napoleon and Dillon Napoleon.

Northwestern (2018 Record: 17-32, 6-18)

Northwestern had a setback in 2018 finishing with the second worst record in the Big Ten.

Returning Players

Jack Dunn returns as the team’s leading hitter from last year when he hit .314 with 42 runs scored and 21 stolen bases, while playing second base. His counterpart up the middle will be Alex Erro who hit .296 in 2018 with 30 runs scored and 3 home runs.

Jack Pagliarini will have a chance to be a weekend starter after making eight starts last year with a 3.99 ERA in 47.1 innings pitched with 54 strikeouts.

Newcomers

Michael Trautwein comes in and will have a chance to earn some playing time in the outfield, while Sahwn Goosenberg will look to play on the infield.

Outlook for 2019

They hope to improve their relief pitching in 2018, while also finding more power in the lineup.

Northwestern is 13-14 (4-2 Big Ten) after beating Chicago State, losing to UIC and sweeping Ohio State. RPI 93, SOS 77, Non-Con 36.

 
Northwestern is 15-16 (5-4 Big Ten) after winning a midweek game against Milwaukee and losing the series 1-2 against Maryland. RPI 84, SOS 73, Non-Con 31.

 
Northwestern is 15-20 (5-7 Big Ten) after losing midweek to Notre Dame and being swept by Michigan, RPI 101, SOS 65, Non-Con 42.
