Osborne likes traditional uniforms

I find it hard to believe that a kid would comit to a school because the uniform looks cool.

Semantics. Many of the "traditional" powers have worn one or multiple alternate jerseys, whether they be crazy modern or throwbacks.

The end result is a demand for a "new" piece of merchandise for the fans. Sales for the apparel company. Licensing royalties to the school.

Some schools like Oregon do this constantly. Others have done it once or twice a season. But many schools have done this, and many will do it more over.

The reasons they do it are all the same.

 
Well bama and LSU sure seem to be sucking it up in recruiting with those gawd awful uniforms.

No it isn't! And we even have done it, we wore throwbacks for the 300th sellout. A lot of the Pro Combat stuff is done in a throwback fashion, for example, tOSU, Michigan, and Alabama. If you can't see the difference between a once-a-year thing and an every game thing, then I feel sorry for you. I agree that the reasons for doing so are the same, but lets not lump Ohio State in with Maryland and Oregon, that is insane.

 
It is marketing for Nike, Nike basically owns Oregon now in a sense. Everything is about their uniforms, the money Nike gives the program and on and on. MONEY MONEY, but if you think Nike did not want bama and lsu in their combat uniforms you are crazy. A lot of money had to have been offered for the MNC game. That would have been a big marketing payday for NIKE.

 
If the "going to be a fan of another team", "bring back Callahan" and this thread are any indication, HB off seasons are a lot of fun.
