Is there any word why the staff doesn't seem so high on him? Do they think he's just stringing us along? Hard to fathom being lackadaisical about the #1 overall prospect in the entire country being highly interested.
Maybe I'm not as well in the know about his recruitment, but we were on the outside looking in until his announcement of a final four today. I still think it's a long shot that he comes here, but the fact that we're in the this position is kind of surprising to me. The fact that we're still  technically in the hunt for him is a testament to the staff working on getting him here for the spring visit and keeping his interest beyond that point. Would be a major coup if he's on our roster this time next season.

I don't think that's the case at all. The staff has done everything they can do, realistically, to get his commitment.

It's just, at the end of the day, I think the conclusion is the same that everybody else has come to: it's that for this level of player, Nebraska is seen as a place that's just not quite ready. They have the resources, they have the support staff, they provide everything outside of Football that top players desire in a program. But until Nebraska 1) Wins 2) Puts players in the NFL they aren't going to be getting commitments from players like Sanders.

Any chance with the new things happening with NI that they open the checkbook here? These are the type of guys we need to keep Dylan upright!

Fwiw, I think NIL is a reason we are even in the conversation at all.

The other teams have NIL setups too though.
Dylan is the sole reason why we were even considered. All of these programs could match or exceed any NIL we throw to him.

Ranking the Contenders: Five-star David Sanders Jr.

4. NEBRASKA
Matt Rhule and the Cornhuskers seemingly came out of nowhere for Sanders when they got him to take an official visit over Mother's Day weekend.

There's a lot that Nebraska can offer Sanders and the opportunity for early playing time is certainly catching their attention. Dylan Raiola has made it a personal mission of his to recruit Sanders and that is one of the driving forces behind Nebraska's push into his list of final contenders.

Nebraska made a splash getting Sanders on campus for an official visit and they pulled off a huge surprise last year by flipping Raiola at the 11th hour so don’t write off Nebraska just yet.
