OT Denton Simek

FWIW, an Admin over at HI doesn't think we'll end up offering Simek even if we lose out on any of the 3 remaining prospects of the 2010 class. He's under the impression that we'll save the unused scholarships in favor of more recruits for 2011. His reason for thinking this is because the way the 2011 class is shaping up at the moment, the staff feels like this has the potential to be their best recruiting class, so they'll want as many scholarships available as possible.

Even if we don't land Owa, I would think the scholly would be saved for next year. Or maybe even used to give Marsh a scholly instead of a greyshirt. I'm all for line depth, but if the staff hasn't offered him yet, I'm not sure they're going to.

The Owa thread is talking about that the NU coaches have told Simek that he can sign if Owa does not. And Simek may be waiting for word on Owa's LOI. It's all rumor and speculation right now.

I know right? Well good news is plenty of schollies to give out next year...could be an amazing 2011 class!!! But this class has me excited too.

what started out as a spectacular day turned into just a pretty good one. unfortunately the bad news followed the great news so i'm depressed and heading the bar shortly. if anyone in the KC area wants to drink away the news with me I'll be at O'Dowd's on the Plaza for happy hour - the nerd w/ the laptop.
