OT/DT Bruce Campbell

Eric the Red

Team HuskerBoard
Player: Bruce Campbell

Hometown: New Haven, CT

Position:

Height: 6’7”

Weight: 267

40 time: 4.75

Visit Date: Sept. 9, 2005 (Wake Forest)

Scholarships offered: Maryland, Michigan State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Penn State, Rutgers, Virginia

Favorites:Committed to Maryland

Rankings/Stars:

Rivals: #20/ :star :star :star :star

Bid Red Report:#14/ :star :star :star :star

Assessing the talent: The first thing is the sick forty yard dash. If this realistic, there’s a good chance he will be looked more at Defensive Tackle a opposed to OT. He is being recruited at both positions. I suspect he may have trouble with his SAT. Low GPA raises concerns.

Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 0% there are a bunch of schools after him. He says he will be attending NU summer camp. He has watched the Husker and followed them for a while.

There's no way someone is 267 pounds and can run a 4.75.... numbers are fudged
Steinkuhler ran a 4.75, and if he wasn't over 267 I'm the King of Monaco.

Also a bummer not being in the final 5.

edit: I meant Steinkuhler. Whoops!

Has a final 2 of Maryland and Virginia. He will end up a Cavalier in my opinion unless we WOW him on the visit

With the bulk of the "highly rated" offensive lineman gone already. This kid could be considered a must get. He will be visiting this week.

I have to agree that he would be a welcome addition to the team - IMO i do not see him as a must get yet. We have DJ, Henry, and Slauson already on board with B. Lewis,

R. Johnson, J. Adams, and JUCO F.Topou yet to sign with anyone. I think the coaches will only take 2 more linemen this class so they will be a little selective on who they take.

:cheers

They would take every single one of those guys if they wanted to commit. We have very little depth on the O-line, and we need help there. We are also relatively old at that position. I think Campbell is as close to it gets as a must get, even though he will be a little bit of a Kennedy project.

Pulling him from Maryland will be difficult but not impossible. NU has some ground to make up after he takes his 3 remaining visits to Virginia this weekend, Mich St the following weekend and Maryland on Jan 13th i believe.

Back in Aug, i said he had a final 2 of Virginia and Maryland. With the coaches from Virginia going to other school like KSU and Temple, Maryland should have the upper hand at this point
