No. 800 is the max score on a section. Assuming they're only talking about the traditional reading/math sections, it's 810 out of 1600 where 400 is the minimum. Nt'l average is supposed to be about 1000, so 810 s pretty low.

I don't know - is 820 all they're requiring? Is that true for UNL in general?

 
i know that you need at least a 2.0 in your core classes. with that then you need a higher ACT or SAT. i think that comes from the NCAA clearing house

 
The SAT changed to add a Writing section starting last year (h.s. class of '06), but oftentimes this score is basically disregarded. Some colleges don't even consider it - or give it as much consideration as the Math and Reading anyway - because it's so new and there's little basis with which to compare it (i.e, I don't believe they release percentiles yet).

In other words, that's definitely a M/V only score. 820/2400 cannot *possibly* be the cutoff line, because that is wayyyy, way, way too low. If there are cutoffs, it makes sense that they don't factor in the new writing section yet, and 820 is a *reasonable* cutoff for the old score system.
