Nebraska has already mined Missouri for two commits for this class thus far. And they are looking for more. Offensive lineman Joe Burgess is one of the few “bigguns” they have offered out of the Show Me State, and Burgess is hoping to make it up to Lincoln for a visit before Fall camp begins.

 
ESPN Grade of 68

Burgess has good height and weight for the tackle position but must improve his overall athletic ability, explosion and playing strength if he is to compete at the major level of competition. Lacks good flexibility in his stance and not quick off the ball; as a drive blocker his pad level is too high and he gets stalemated on contact but is a battler who works hard to finish blocks. Flashes some ability to gain leverage when reach blocking but will have problems with quick 1st and 2nd level defenders. Have yet to see him pull and trap; shows balance and plays on his feet well in space. Will have problems in pass protection and could possibly be moved to guard. Flashes quick set ability but plays to tall and must improve his knee bend. Inconsistent punch; leans in and needs to improve his hand placement and lockout technique. This is an aggressive player who must improve his playing strength if he is to compete successfully for a starting position. Burgess is a developmental player who will need time and a red shirt year to develop his athletic skills and physical strength if he is to eventually compete for a starting position. At this time he projects more as a non BCS player rather then a potential starter at the major level of competition.

Havent seen any film, but reading this evaluation makes me like him as a prospect. I would want to land him (sounds like he isnt the most talented, but he plays really hard) if we had more spots available.
