Assessing the talent: Along with his very high grade, Dorrestein benches 315 pounds, squats 500 pounds. He’s a project and has the tools to succeed. He’s beginning to receive more attention everyday.

Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 35% Would like to set up a visit so his parents can accompany him. Huskers are the first major D-1 programs to offer.

It tells you that Callahan and staff are not just looking at high profile players. They are also looking for the hidden gems. I'm not saying this guy is but you get the point.

dedhoarse Hello, great news to hear that his parents are coming...which should increase UN's chances of getting he to verbel, because if perry & his parents both like the visit then perry's verbel will be in the bag...plus, (which was written above) UN was the 1st major univ. to show interest, which increases UN's chances all the more.

I love it when the parents come, because they get to taken in all the excitement with their child - the red sea at memorial stadium, the fans, the facilities, & the history of UN is hard for any other school to match, & UN has fared so much better with potential recruits when the parents come - like this year ever potential recruit who came with a parent has either verbelled, or has UN high or very close to the top (like adams & campbell, whose parents were really wowwed), & then there is a couple (clayborn & jensen) who will be toting their parents around campus the next time that they come so that their parents may take in the excitement, as well - which is how it should be, because parents should be a part of their child's visit.

I will always remember buster davis (fsu) & haloti ngata (ore), who fell in love with UN's excitement & wanted to come to UN, but their parents who had not come with them ruled UN out for various reasons (cultural & religious) without seeing UN & regardless of what their sons wanted - they are both doing great for fsu & ore. but parents have a way of influencing an outcome both negative & positive (w/o even being there).

jerry brown will also be coming with his parents for OU - which also bodes well for UN.

This guy is a standout in the chicago are, and that is saying alot. I understand that Texas, Florida, and California are recruiting hotbeds, but I challenge you to find a single city that puts out as many D-1 athletes as chicago. Plainfield is not in one of the tougher conferences which are the Mid Suburban, Central Suburban, and Public Leagues, but he absolutely dominates at his level. He would be a project, but has the frame and the athletic ability to play D-1 at a high level. He would be a great pick up, but not an immediate contributer.

Michigan will be tough to beat.

hello, I think everyone thought dorrestein was going to commit to mi when he visited there on 12/02, (which he did) since he camped there over the summer, & had them high prior to other schools offering (the mac conf, UN, nw, ill, ia st, & pur) - as soon as mi offered & he set his visit there his recruitment was pretty much over

p.s. out of all of UN & mi's recruits dorrestein & mouton are the only 2 that visited both schools - so, score one for mi in the pre-alamo bowl (& mouton will not be opting for either of the 2 schools)
