Others better than Wake?

Who left on the Nebraska schedule is better than Wake Forest? USC and Texas. Maybe A&M?

Just how good is Boston College? Which carries more weight?: BC winning over Wake at home or Nebraska winning on the road?

With a performance like today's, I think any remaining team on the schedule could give us problems.

It also seems to be the year of the underdog. The whole Appalachian St. thing seemed to start things off. Wake gives us trouble, Michigan loses again, A&M is in overtime, Ohio St. struggled.

IMO, USC, Texas, Mizzou, ATM, OK ST, CU, KU, could all easily give us problems, CU is improving a lot and you never know on the road, KU Maggino usually owns BC, Ok ST is really atheltic team that could easliy run on us like Wake did. ATM and Mizzou are good teams, going to Mizzou could give us problems, ATM is a very underrated team who could even make noice in the south. Texas is very good like usual, USC #1 that is all you have to say. That october will make or break us, it will be hard.

I agree with this completely. Pulling out the road win vs Mizzou will be crucial, likewise with Kansas. ATM and OK State are two more tough games. But we're a good team too.

If you haven't noticed :-P

ATM looked impressive today. Their offense, anyway.

I think there are more variables to this game that are not as obvious.

1. First of all no matter how good or bad our team is they are still Nebraska. When your program is a national title contender for as long as the Big Red was all teams get up to play a major program.

2. Wake is the defending ACC champs and are on a mission this year to prove they were not a one year wonder. They lose to BC in game one and now they need to get a win at home to change perceptions.

3. Wake remembers losing to NU in Nebraska and like any other team they are looking to payback the favor when Nebraska comes to town.

4. Keller's first game on the road, Purify's first game period. Keller had some issues in his first game at home managing the offense, no doubt there were going to be some issues on the road.

5. USC! Just look at the threads on this board. I am sure the players are no different, after the win over Nevada just about everyone in the state was wondering what about USC this year. The Huskers knew they had to get past WF first no doubt, but just like any other fan USC was on their minds.

I don't doubt there were some concerns about this game, but I don't think Wake is a creampuff team and as far as I am concerned walking out of there with any kind of win is good enough. Hopefully the Big Red plays better in their road games against Mizzou, Texas, and the Buffs. But now it's back home to get ready for USC and pull off the upset.

GO BIG RED!

I agree that everyone is reading into this game too much. Everyone was talking about winning 10+ games at the begining of the year and I don't think their thoughts should change. NOW the others of us who ALWAYS believed that 3-4 losses was possible with this team then I say we should also stay with our thoughts. Someone previously posted that we could win 12 or 8 this year was correct. It is too hard to predict. Everything hinders on October and BC to get out of his own way.
