Out-on-a-Limb Fall Camp Predictions

Crick, Allen, Camstache, & Baby Stein make Garrett Gilbert Grape wonder why he ever came to Lincoln.

Zac Lee will surprise everyone and will play the entire year as he did in last years preseason. A year under the gun and a healthy arm along with a healthy line will prove just how young and banged up we were last year. There will be alot of crow eating going on by Lee haters.
And when you 3 & out apoligists "finally" figure out Lee is an average at best qb and even with a NC defense we can't get in the NC hunt......well, someday the light bulb will click on. Well.....maybe.

There is a lot riding on Lee, that's for sure. He doesn't have to play like hes all world, just keep the mistakes down and give his players on the field, a chance to make a play and give his teammates confidence in his ability to lead the team.

I look to see Mendoza get in the mix more this year. Maybe taking over as the kick off return guy. To fast, to shifty to get buried on the depth chart much longer.

GBR!!!

I can't wait for all the Lee haters to eat crow when Lee actually turns out to be a serviceable QB under a line that doesn't suck.

I was lucky enough to get back to Nebraska for the spring game this year....I don't know about you guys but I was NOT impressed with Cody Green and would be nervous to see him get important playing time this fall. He looked awkward and unsure coming up to the line and even more so when throwing the ball. Yes he did complete passes in the spring game but they were wide open throws....of course this was the spring and a lot can change BUT I still think Zach Lee is our man at quarterback. On another note, I'm excited to see McKinney and Paul breakout as a one of the better receiving duos in the Big 12...they both have gotten a lot bigger and will obviously have more experience...with McNeill moving off the tackle as well...look for Nebraska's receiving core to be pretty stellar.

I noticed the samething too. One would think by the second year in the system the hesistation and indesicion wouldve wore off.

Heres a set of predictions.....

Cody Green holds a clipboard for the majority of year after seeing action in the WKU and SDSU games. Then he transfers out in the spring.

Tmart sees action at QB and WR(see Meier, KU).

Alex Henery wins the Groza Award.

We beat Texas by a score 24-3. We give up a field goal in the final minute.... bo throws headset, then says "we are not that good of a football team yet"

The media will get banned from practice again at some point this year. This time it will be the non stop questions about Suh and Lions that does it.

-We beat Texas by 2 touchdowns
That's what I like to see.
We buy a texas steer and slaughter it on the field before the game. Coloring our away jerseys with its blood.
Absolutely YES :laughpound

But really my tailgating crew and I are going to build a 10' long longhorn logo and hang it upside down from the facade on their house in the North Bottoms. I encourage everyone to come see it on each and every gameday.

also, they want me to remind you that $5 gets you a red cup and a burger <_<

I’ll start with three.

Zack Lee starts (duh) BUT Green gets a series or two in each non-conf game. And he looks GREAT!

We’ll see YouTube videos of BIG hits by Thenarse this season——game stoppage, smelling salt hits.

Will Henry emerges. And catches a couple of TDs this year. (I admit that I’ve been predicting this for three years now.)

*bump*

Wow. WOW! I don't think it would be humanly possible to be farther off with offseason predictions than mine. Granted, these were "out-on-a-limb" predictions, but none were even remotely close. Ha ha! How did everyone else do?

Uh oh EZ, I think you literally need to start buying a shotgun and hunting for some crow... ;)

so i assume that all you lee lovers will be prepared to eat crow as well when he SUCKS, AGAIN, and by the end of the season doesn't even sniff the field.
I will literally eat crow, because I don't believe that this will happen. I am far from a Lee lover as well. Are you a Taylor Martinez for Heisman guy?
Can't blame anyone for being too off the mark with the offense, IIRC this was before our drastic changes, or at least before it became public and obvious.

-Lavonte David emerges as Demarrio Williams version 2.0

-Cody Green shows VAST imporvement

-Rex has his breakout season

-Alex Henery finally gets his recognition as the best field goal kicker/punter in the country

-We beat Texas by 2 touchdowns
Lavonte- Not to bad of a predicition

Cody Green- I dont know, thats a tough call, he showed some improvment.

Rex Breakout season- He had some great plays, showed alot of good things.

Alex- Way off, but he deserved the recognition.

Beat Texas- FAIL.
