Oven BBQ Beef Brisket
Ingredients:
1 large onion, thinly sliced
6 lb. flat beef brisket
2 T. seasoned salt
salt & pepper to taste
3 T. brown sugar
1-1/2 cups barbecue sauce
Directions:
In large roasting pan; place onion slices on bottom. Season beef with seasoned salt. Place brisket in roasting pan and season with salt and pepper. Scatter brown sugar over top of brisket and pour barbecue sauce over brown sugar. Cover pan tightly with lid or aluminum foil. Bake in preheated 325 F (160 C) oven for 3 1/2 hours. Remove lid and bake uncovered for about 30 minutes or until juices are reduced and top becomes glazed. Let brisket rest for 30 minutes. Slice on diagonal into thin slices. Put pan on top of stove over medium heat, scraping any meat stuck to pan. Add more barbecue sauce if needed and stir.
