OWH Barfknecht: Nebraska closing in on naming next athletic director

I wonder how people would feel if Danny White is hired and Frost turns us down?  Sacrilege to say I know.  What I mean is clearly the only reason people want White is to get to Scott and I get it.  But if we had to go to coach choice #2, I wonder what AD would be better to find and lure that candidate. 

 
The Vietnamese gal that does my girlfriend's nails knows a masseuse that works with another gal who does house cleaning for a couple who are best friends with the people who sit next to Danny White's cousin at the UCF football games and she said he's a really nice guy.

Listen, if White is the best candidate available great, but I hope NU doesn't hire him just to go after Frost. Find the best guy for each position, this shouldn't be a package deal. That sounds like a recipe for continuing this disaster. I'd much rather have Mullens since he has experience at a pretty large and successful program than White. White might be fantastic and if he is that's great. I just don't like the thought process, "If you want Frost, get White, that'll get him here"

Well, I think either Mullens or White has a great shot at Frost if we want him.

Which is totally cool, not a problem with that, like I said I just don't want us to hire Y so we can get X. I also don't want us all to say, "Frost is the only one, do whatever you have to so he comes here." I'm on the Frost bandwagon, I really am, but we should look at all options at this point. If they screw this hire up man we're so screwed.........

I agree, that's silly. Anyone currently in our Athletic Department can offer Frost a job. We need someone who understands the culture and behind-the-scene influences and can handle them. I think that's what most potential candidates, including Frost, are concerned about.
