I don't believe for one second that he lied about that. Did he go off the rails in other areas? Yeah. But, there was quite a bit of smoke regarding Harvey when Osborne abruptly announced his retirement. Harvey has quite the ego, and we know Tom won't throw anyone under the bus.

He resigned in leu of being forced out. It's a technicality, but it's not a lie.

Osborne: “I wasn’t forced out. I resigned. And that’s the end of the story.”

I don't trust Harvey at all, and I have little trust in Shawn.

And apparently no trust in Tom Osborne either. Everyone is a liar.

He didn't lie. He was very deliberate in his response.

You are saying he was very deliberate in his response, then read the whole thing. "I wasn't forced out." Either he's lying, or Bo is.

He's right. Since Harvey Pearlman was hired in 2001, we've seen Nebraska go from the top of the Collegiate (and Athletic) world, to a middle tier Big Ten school. We've been kicked out of the AAU. We've had a completely disfunctional athletic department for 12 years, have hired/fired/rehired/and fired all sorts of underlings. The last decade plus has been a constant struggle for progress and we've cleaned house three times now, and yet one variable remains...

If we're intent on cleaning house and fixing the problems, there's but one solution.

then you specifically mention football and the athletic department. which other than football, is in pretty good shape. and even considering football is still in pretty good shape. whatever problems have been with the football program seem solely the fault of bo. i do not get the impression that any other coach has the same problems as bo did with eichorst.

and i think eichorst has been doing the best he can given the circumstances. i also very much agree with this sentiment:

I'm just saying that even if they had escorted Tom out w/ campus police - throwing his sh#t out his office window down onto the parking lot below...he still would have given the same statement he just did. Everything in between that extreme and a giant parade in downtown Lincoln, with flags at half-staff and the city shut down would yield the EXACT same response. He's not going to stir up anything more over something that is in the past and already done.

Wasn't the interim title temporary, and he became a true AD in the spring after the transition.

i do not remember. i just always thought it was a temporary arrangement to clean house, stabilize, and move on.
just seemed like after that, it was just a matter of find the right permanent guy.

Were talking about Tom here? He was named the AD after numb nuts was fired and he then fired Billy. He was named interim coach until he hired a new one.

I can't fathom why you'd quote that, because even in a vacuum it doesn't say what you've been saying in this thread. You also (conveniently) omitted several other posts of mine in that thread, many of which explain what I was concerned with, and why Tom actually retired.
