OWH: Top 20 Recruits of the Last 10 Years

The top 20 was picked based on on-field contributions to the program, the amount of time in the program — which, obviously, favors high school recruits slightly — the leadership factor they provided, and their position.


And it doesn't include walk-ons. That's a different list for a different day. Those guys deserve their own list, although at least two — Spencer Long and Alex Henery — probably would have made this list.

Interesting list but I think the 2 lists that would really tell the story of our last ten years of recruiting would be the Next 20 (#21 thru #40 top recruits) and the top 20 busts that never really contributed or never saw the field as a Husker. I could be wrong but I'm guessing the list falls off very significantly after this top 20.

 
The fact that Nick Gates cracked his list after only playing 1 year of playing and the fact that no other O-linemen made the list either seems pretty telling about Gates, the O-line, or both.

Hard to believe it's been ten years since Suh was recruited. He would have been first on this list last year. Obviously.
