Pelini HC at Mich. St. ? Snyder to Miami?

Saw something on HP - some writer's prediction/endorsement that Pelini would be a good match for the HC job at Mich. state.

Hmmm.... Might be good.

He and his wifey will probably have to class up their act a bit to be the faces of a major colleg football program.

This should be interesting to watch.

Would be ironic - Pelini, as a HC, holds the NU bowl record for least points allowed - versus MSU.

Also saw a bit about Snyder being looked at by Miami.

Pelini to Michigan St. Hmm... one :asshat replaced by another :asshat . Sounds like a fit to me. And by Snyder, do you mean Bill Snyder?

The Michigan State job is Steve Mariucci's if he wants it. He and Tom Izzo are childhood/college friends and always dreamed of coaching at the same school.

I have heard that Bill Synder is going to get back into

coaching but somewhere like Navy where recruiting is

not that much of a factor. Heard it on 810 sports talk.

Boy they really wouldn;t be dialing down the crazy much by replacing John L. with Bo. I do agree that the job is Mooch's for the taking

I heard somewhere that Muchi would not be considered due to his coaching ideas. Said that Izo would be totally against him coming there. Who knows, I don't follow Michigan State to closely.

I doubt Pelini is going anywhere to be a head coach very soon. Not ready for the political side of it yet.

The following is from Wikipedia, interestingly enough.

"Rumors and even published reports are circulating that the Michigan State Spartans are very interested in Mariucci as their next football head coach.

An MSU Board member has stated publicly that they will not/never hire Steve Mariucci as head coach at MSU.

It was announced on November 1, 2006 that John L. Smith will be fired from his head coaching duties at the conclusion of the 2006 season."

The MSU part is near the bottom

michigan state needs a more firm hand than what mooch runs. I totally see a DC getting hired for mich state. Maybe Chizic from UT or English from Mich.

Other intersting idea I read was Leach to miami.

leach to miami? omg, that would be like throwing a rabid bobcat into kennel of rabid rottweilers: loud, violent and, as long as you're standing from distance and have nothing invested in it, entertaining.

that boy is five shades of nutty. i'd *love* to see how he would deal witht the thugocracy of miami.

Pelini never made much of an impression for me. He was in and out. Cant see him as a major D1 coach, but if he does, good for him I guess, but it still means nothing to me.

Michigan State is one of the most over rated football programs ever. Each year they are pre-ranked in top 25. And it seems each year they finish around 6-5, 5-6, 6-4-1, etc. They shine once a year against Notre Dame.

What about Barnett? Is his name floating around any where? He's on some BCS show. Damn. I had gotten used to not see his face or hearing his voice.

:clap Thank you. My thoughts exactly.

It was my thought that Pelini threw several coaching opportunities out of the window with his rant against the refs in the Alamo Bowl that cost the team 15 yards, and his general a$$ attitude in the press conferences. Plus, KSU gored him in Solich's last home game, Mizzou and Texas weren't too nice to him either.

I heard today Snyder might be open to going to Iowa State if McCarney gets let go. I also read that Barry Alvarez is open to returning to coaching and Miami is a possibility.
