Seed the pairings according to normal play-off protocol: 1st round 1 vs 16, 2 vs 15, 3 vs 14, etc and then let the play-offs commense. And I honest think that once we have the 11 auto qualifiers (conference champions) that we can generally agree who the remaining at large teams should be. More than likely the #2 teams from the SEC, Big 10, Pac 12, and Big 12 would be at large invites and it is likely that a conference like the SEC would get a 3rd team in. Point is there's no perfect way to do this but this is, I think, the best way.i tend to agree with you, but that is not what everyone else suggests......my problem is how the pairings will be decided......i have little faith in keeping the politics out of it.
Edit: And make the at-large bids dependent upon final conference standings not ranking in any poll or computer because those can be too easily manipulated.
