But what really makes me suspicious is that, right before the play, I said to myself, "I bet the refs call a phantom false start penalty."

Drop the ref's stuff. If a team really wants to win the ref's calls won't matter, like today.

Nebraska won despite crap calls, that's good. Refs are humans, they make mistakes, trust me, we've gotten our share of the benefit as well.

Looked like he made both. The second one looked like it missed because the backspin brought the ball back into the end zone.

Stupid. what if one team is only barely, barely better than another team? enough that one call can sway the game? then the refs making a bad call can decide the game. luckily today, that wasn't the case. but refs can decide a game, no matter how bad a team 'wants' (LOL) to win.
