Phil Steele's College Football Preview

Agreed anything bigger and better than the Big 12 Title i.e. BCS Bowl, Nat. Champ. would be icing on the cake and would be much welcomed but we all have to try and stay grounded here and just look at the Big 12 Champ. as reality and the Nat. Champ. as a (right now) dream right now!!!! But, I would love to be wrong and come January be rooting the Huskers in the National Champ. :worship

This will be a great measurement tool for the coaches, players, and fans to see where they are and where they need to go. I hope we can take at least one of the games.

 
Just to let you know, Phil Steele, according to his own magazine, has been the most accurate in predicting the end of year top twenty five of all the major prognosticating mags. I have read his predictions, and he put us at 5-6 two years ago.... doh!... and I believe 7-5 last year, so needless to say, he is either lucky or good....

 
I absolutely hate those trash prediction magazines... but I consider Steele's mag to be separate from the bunch. He's much more accurate than most.

For something that is impossible to predict anyway he generally does pretty well.

anyway, the fact that he is apparently high on the Huskers in that interview is actually comforting in some way b/c i trust his opinion.

though, didn't he have Nebraska ranked in the 20s in his preview mag?

He's not SI or Beeno Cook (who killed us in '98), so I think we're safe. He's not a jinxer- if anything superstitious, he may be the opposite.

 
post 100...!!!...anyways...I only see us losing to Texas OR USC...i don't think we lose both of those games, too many big namers gone and too many unproven young talent. I think we get to the Big 12 championship but i don't know if we win it or not. i don't really think that we're NC potential yet...the media is too busy :hmmm notre dame after last year we won't get in withthe BCS in enough time to get near that game. I see us having a great season and I'm very very excited for this team. Sky could be the limit for these boys if they play with the heart that they did against michigan and colorado. For the first time in almost a decade they're playing with a swagger and some confidence.

i just got the news that my request for vacation days for all home husker games went through...heaven on earth boys heaven on earth...Who needs to go on vacation when you can go to memorial 6+ times with my boys... :restore

 
If we beat Texs or USC we will get pretty high in the polls, and thus into the BCS mix. Especially if we can beat USC in week 3, that would put us in the Top 10, probably around 8 or so. If we keep winning, the talk of BCS bowls would start coming. Skers you're right on with the playing with swagger right now. I haven't seen this kind of confidence from a Big Red team in a while.

If we beat USC and Texas we are goin to be in a good BCS bowl!!! We shouldn't lose to any of the other teams if we beat these teams. We beat these guys and the Big 12 should be ours!!!! :thumbs

 
Another 100th post of the day. Anyways if we beat USC and Texas, we should not only be in a BCS game, but the championship. If not, it's that ESPN bias all over again.

 
i don't know guys...if Notre gay has less than 7 losses we will probably get pushed out of bcs contention, so they can get smacked by a real team again!
